Marlin model 30AS
« on: October 25, 2004, 03:03:55 AM »
I have my dad's marlin 30AS 30-30 and I am wanting to put a peep sight on it.  It has the holes on the side and the scope mount holes as well.  I looked at midway and I do not see my model listed.  I am wondering which model is compatable with mine?  I am wanting the williams brand of sight and I want the side mounted one just because I am going to tinker with different loads and would like a sight a little bit more user friendlier to adjust and more have more adjustments.  I would appreciate any info about the gun and which sight to use.  I bought the gun when I was I think 15 yrs old for him and now I am thirty and it has had maybe a box shot out of it.
Thanks

i would suggest yu take it to a gunsmith and have him measure the holes and thread of the holes yu have and fit it with the right one before yu buy something that dont fit,

I feel that you can use either the top mount or side mount Williams peep sights that are listed for the 336.

I use Wlliams side mount peeps. They make 2 one with clik stops & one you loosen & slide. I forget the model #'s. Maybe 94/36.
