Hog Hunting in NC Questions

I'm looking at a possible job change / relocation and I'm wondering what the hog hunting possibilities are in the Durham, NC vicinity are.
 
I currently live in Northern Indiana and usually hunt deer in the fall, but am intrigued with the possibilities of what southern hunting might offer.

There are a number of plantations that are located in the South Carolina low country, that hunt hogs pretty much year-round.  They are about three hours from Durham.  The hunting in North Carolina is mostly in the mountains bordering Tennessee.  The population there is close to pure Russian. While the mountains are not high, they are steep. I have hunted in the Nantahala National Forest and been in coves where the sunset was around 3 in the afternoon. Durham to Asheville is about 230 miles, and some of the better hunting is a couple of hours past Asheville.

You can find ferrel hog populations in a lot of the eastern and southeastern counties even on some public game lands. In those cases a permit is required.
I killed a (appox) 300/325lb boar this weekend in the Poqusion Lakes Refuge. Only requirements they have is you follow the dear hunting regs on the refuge.
If you can find them on private land they will almost pay you to kill them because of the damage they do.
