Ive only has a handi for a short period so forgive my ignorance. I read about buying barrels on ebay but I thought that NEF barrels had to be fitted at the factory....or is that just their plan to avoid lawsuits? :?

In reality, it is just to avoid the lawsuits.  I sold a guy a 35 Whelen barrel, he has since become a great friend.  He knows who he is, and he comes here quite often to respond or post.

He has not reported to me ANY problems since getting his barrel etc.  I really believe that H&R/NEF want to ensure a proper fit etc. and especially the Lawsuits  :lol:

Thanks Montanan, that .35 Whelen is a great barrel!!

I copied and pasted this from my reply to a post entitled "so whats the deal" a few days ago...

"I have bought, sold, swapped and switched barrels and never an insurmountable problem. You soon learn the tricks to fitting and if it looks as if it won't safely fit any reciever you have, there is always someone you can sell or swap it with who's reciever might be a better fit. Besides that, it's fun!!!....<><.... :grin:  "
