Thanks to Holiday for pulling a string or two with Silver Springs at SASS HQ they did a 180 and allowed me to have the alias I asked for.

So frum now on I'll be Marshal Graybeard on the CAS forums.

Hope to attend my first match with Holiday the first Sunday in March. Maybe I'll be ready by then and I'm hoping the weather will be nicer than it is now.

That's great. Really glad to hear it. Too bad you had to have such a bad initial experience with the organization.

Guess we can go back to drinking SASSparella again.

Hey Marshal,
Great to have you as a SASS member. Know you are gonna love it.

I shoot tomorrow. Right now it's 39 degrees and supposed to get to 32 :eek: before warming up to a toasty 54

in the afternoon. Will be interesting to see the turn-out and, more importantly, how"ll I'll do in "cool" weather.
Let you know how it goes.

Just did some reading of the other posts and sounds like my encounter with HQ. On phone said my first choice was fine so, like an idiot, I logged on and filled out the paperwork on-line rather than doing if over the phone. Then I find my second choice was used.

Only thing is I figured that after the War of Northern Aggression, some of them carpetbaggers moved west as well as south.

In any event you should be through with your dealings with them and can get on with the fun of this sport/hobby/obsession.

For what it's worth the Cowboy Chronicle does mighty fine in the old outhouse, too. :lol:

Congrats on joining!!! I know you are gonna have a great time cause there are some mighty fine folks in SASS . We were gonna burn powder this A.M. but my pard who runs things with me (we do all the work) is going in the hospital for surgery so we had to cancel.

HOT DANG!! That just made my day! Marshall, I'm just glad I could help in some small way. I think you had more to do with it than I did, though. I just put a bug in their ear about the fact that you owned and ran one of the biggest and most popular shooting and outdoors sites around and that having you as a friend made a whole heap more sense than ticking you off. Wal Holiday I shore wondered whut it was you said to them folks that made such a change. They shore were accomodating the last time around. A total 180 degree shift from the first time, well actually the second as I'd first tried to get Graybeard as a standalone name and as I figured that was taken. So I had ta do a bit uv thinking before I called back with Marshal Graybeard and got the treatment I did.

But it all worked out in the end and now another major site has a whole passle of CAS forums available and a lot of new folks will see them and learn about CAS and SASS and perhaps join in the fun.

Yup I should be ready for March. Don't see any reason why not at this time. Won't have nearly all of my stuff needed but will have enough to kick it off.
