I USED to practice for hunting by shooting standing off hand as much as possible. When I WAS/AM hunting I always use a rest, period. My thinking was ,I know I can hit it ,BUT can I KILL it? So ,I rested the gun, still do!
I would put clay pigeons on the berm at 200 and 300 yards and practice quite often.A few friends and I would bet $1 dollar on each shot, this adds a little incentive to the shooting!
