.36 cal pistol
« on: October 28, 2004, 05:02:05 PM »
hi all,
was wondering if you guys have seen a .36 cal kentucky style pistol, in kit form or otherwise, and if it takes the same diameter ball as a .36 revolver. wanted to make a matching set, a rifle and pistol if I could find them.
also, how would a .36 cal be for a close range coyote gun. 50 or so yards.
thanks in advance

A .36 caliber revolver uses a .375 ball and a .36 Kentucky pistol will take a .350 or .355 ball. A .38 Kentucky would use the .375 ball, but off hand I don't know of a kit. You might try Matt Avance at Tennessee Valley
Arms. TVA offers a pistol kit and they might be able to find a .38 barrel for you. A .36 rifle would probably stop a coyote with a good hit, but I'd personally want to make a bigger hole.

Try Dixie Gun Works.

Agree, a barrel to shoot a .375 ball, patched, would need to be about 38 caliber.
