Hammer extension for a Rossi?
« on: October 29, 2004, 01:25:42 PM »
Hi guys.  I've got a quick question about the Rossi single shots: do you know which hammer extension from Uncle Mike's (or somewhere else) will fit the gun?  I emailed Uncle Mike's and they couldn't say but I figured someone on here has found one.  Thanks.

You can buy the hammer extension directly from Rossi.  Here is the link:

or you can get an uncle mikes that fits a handi rifle. it has to point out to the left and a bit needs to be filed off the one side but is a simple operation

If you live near a Dunham's sporting goods chain store they stock the Rossi hammer extensions and scope base, though the T/C base from Weaver fits perfectly.  I'm thinking the last extension I bought from them was about $5.95.  I've tried reworking one of the Uncle Mikes for the NEF and the Blackhawk with some success, but the final effort was not exactly confidence inspiring.  The Rossi one needs to be mounted to the left so you can access the action release button on the right.
