Yeah. the Tracker sights seem to be silver brased on. It'd be a bear of a job to get them off without warping or scaling the barrel

How about filing or milling the front sight blade off to the top flat of the ramp and milling or filing a groove in the ramp to accept front sight blades from Williams? Sounds like and easy fix to me....<><....

i was wondering becuase i was going to have the barrel cut down a bit on my new $60 tracker 2 20 ga to make it eaier to get through the brush with. and wanted to re-instal the front sight. maybe order a new one from NEF and have it silver soldered on?

single shot shooter,

Here is a couple of other ideas.  If you don't cut down the barrel, Cabelas has a light pipe sight the slips over the shogun barrel. It has a notch in it that the front bead goes into to keep it from rotating.  That way you do not have to remove the front bead.  If you cut down the barrel then go to Walmat.  They have a front light pipe sight with several different screws with it for about $10.00.  You can then drill and tap the barrel for whatever screw thread you want  for the sight.  Trick here is getting the sight centered on the barrel.  Easy to do if you have a way to dial in the center of the barrel.  A Brigeport mill would work great but most of us don't have one of these laying around.
