swivels for schnables ?
« on: October 31, 2004, 04:47:25 AM »
Anybody know offhand where I could buy the barrel clamp shotgun swivels in 12ga ? I seem to recall these things but I might be thinking about something else.
My forearm has a swivel stud right in the middle and that just plumb ain't gonna do. I'd hate to have to buy the new straight length forearm just so I have enough meat to put a swivel on.
I thought about remounting the stud on the front tip but thought I'd check here first before I do something drastic. :?

I've got a regular forearm I'll trade with you. It' painted a home made camo though. Don't know about the barrel bands though. it's an interesting idea but I'm not sure how it would work on a tapered barrel

Hi Markus
Thanks for the offer, I might take you up on that. Let me look around a little first.
I thought Uncle Mikes made a split ring barrel ( two piece ) clamp similar to the lever action magazine tube clamp. I seem to recall one but  my memory is a bit fuzzy these days
I'll get back with you on it.

Check out Midsouth Shooter's Supply.  I just bought a 20ga barrel band swivel from them.  They have just about anything you could want and their prices are very good

alpini, I drilled a hole for a sling swivel just behind the thin part of my schnabel. It was a big mistake, just gets in the way. I thought about drilling at the end of the schnabel but don't want any more holes to plug up  . Thanks to Tony I will now check with MidSouth before I do anything.

Thanks gents
I located barrel mount swivels at "Cheaper Than Dirt " yesterday. They're called Magnum Band shotgun swivels 12ga # 15912 from Uncle Mikes. I'll be ordering from CTD only because they are a little closer to home.
I think I'll check into the fiber sight stud next.
   Thanks again
