« on: October 31, 2004, 11:22:55 AM »
Has anyone used a pop-up blind to hunt coyotes? Thanks, oktx.

I am using one now for deer hunting.  And will use it for varmints.  I got the cheapest one, a tee pee for about $30.  I have one of those folding lawn chairs. very comfortable. keep the wind out.  and if you are comfortable you will stay longer.  I bought 2 and go to different sights, pop it up and am in business in 2min.
and I am confident that it hides scent.  I had the biggest bobcat I have ever seen leisurly walk withing about 15yd of me and never look my way, along with other assorted critters.
where I live in NE kansas I hunt wooded draws, creekbottoms.  I need a orange tape to find it.  It looks like a briar tangle from a distance.
I do not like tree stands.  they are cold and most of all dangerous.  A local guy here is paralized from falling, and I have heard it is not uncommon.  Now when I was younger climbing trees was better.  the blind is a good option.
