Electric Smoker????

I want to buy an electric smoker to do sausage in any suggestion's out there on brand and size?

Most of the ones I have seen were the " Little Chief type square aluminum box style not very big but work well for small batches of stuff. I had a electric brinkman style smoker and I was not that impressed. Do a search on the net for electric smokers or Food smokers and you should be able to get some more ideas and prices. Jim

I have two of the Little Chief smokers.  Cost about $50 apiece a number of years ago.

They come in two models, top loader and front loader.  I started with the top loader but changed to the front loader very quickly.  I put mine on top of my brick barbecue when in use, and the top of the barbecue is around 3 feet tall.  The Little chief is about 2-1/2 feet high and the baskets you put in are another 2-1/2 feet long.  I can't reach that high without standing on a stool, so I use front loaders.

No problems at all after years of use but a friend has one and had to replace the heating element once, at a cost I think was around $10.

I recommend 'em.
