Can Sidekick foreend be used on Huntsman?
« on: November 02, 2004, 01:16:24 AM »
Maybe someone who has both of these could switch them and see. I really like the extended Sidekick forearm and would like to see about ordering one for my Huntsman if it will interchange. Of course there's always the chance of it not actually being longer than the standard Huntsman but only looks that way because of shortened action of the Sidekick. I don't know, someone check this out and post OK?

Hey,

Maybe this number will help you out. 978-632-9393.  They are usually very helpful and should be able to answer your question.  This is H&R's number in MA.  LET GO JETS :-D .

no they do not interchange. The sidekick is longer and the hole alignemnt is different due to the shorter receiver. The sidekick is designed by itslef to not interchange.

Thanks bubba - I know you have both so I guess you've tried 'em huh? Guess I'll just have to break down and get one of those sidekicks in the 26" stainless before long.

the huntsman will fit the shotgun foreend. A buddy of mine sent in his huntsman and had a shotgun barrel fitted to it. He uses the huntsman foreend with the shotgun barrel

I am not recommending this, but I shoot a 30-30 barrel on my Huntsman frame with the Huntsman fore-end and it works fine and unless you look at the gun from the muzzle you never know it's a muzzy fore-end.
