It Is time for Reflection--
« on: November 02, 2004, 01:32:26 AM »
The polls will be closed by the time most look at this, soooo!
What are the qualities you folk like in a President--I don't see many of em in either of the ones we had a choice of.
Strong, intelligent, smart, quick of mind, independent thinker, not bound to a party agenda. Born again, God fearing, Spirit led. Yep those are my choices, I doan see myself in many of those categories, so I ain't putin myownself up here.
Boys, we need to start taking charge of our own destiny rather than letting party lackeys do our thinking for us.
Blessings

I concur, Mr. Layton. But, realistically, we little people are stuck with a two-party system. I voted for Bush, not because I agree with all of his policies, but because I don't want Kerry in the executive office.

Until a viable 3rd party candidate arrives on the scene, I'm afraid we're going to remain mired in this frustrating rut.

Please folks, don't take what I've written here as a challenge for debate of any kind. I made the mistake of getting involved in a political forum at another site, and I'm still exhausted from that unpleasant experience.
If at first you don't succeed, by all means try again. But if this doesn't work, give up, because there is no sense in making a darn fool of yourself.

Greysky-
Tie a knot in the end of that rope of yours. There are many I dsagree with and many more who disagree with me, but, we can all agree to disagree at some/on some points. It is not the one that shouts the loudest.
Speak and defend your thoughts, change your mind if you find a better process. Be honest, open and continue to exchange ideas.
Blessings

Oh, I enjoy participating in an intelligent debate as much as the next guy. But there are certain subjects--such as politics-- that some people can't seem to discuss without allowing their emotions to overwhelm their better judgment. And I do tend to become defensive when I find myself being hammered by an assortment of egotistical jerks who seem to get their jollies inciting flame wars, which I will NOT participate in.

The trick is to not get emotionally involved in the feelings, or, just because one calls you a name it does not mean that is what you are. Another cannot pronounce you something you are not.
Now if he is right, well, take that thought and either change or if you do not like his ideas then determine for yourownself what is the better option.
Kennedy, when he was besieged by the military to invade Cuba, did not like the options. He was called weak and a coward by them. He endured and found better options which gave better results for him.
Heck its alright to change you mind. I think I have, in the choice of President, although I think his choices and thinking are very flawed on a number of key issues.
Blessings
Recon I can be wrong sometimes--Ol GB points that out everonceinahile.
