Need scope base for Benelli SBE slug barrel........
« on: November 02, 2004, 03:14:59 AM »
the upper receiver on the slug barrel is drilled for a scope base and I'm looking for a 1-piece Weaver or Picatinny type.  Weaver only lists a 2-piece, Benelli lists nothing.  Anyone know where to search?  TIA

Monkeyman,
I was just wondering what you thought about the SBE.  I want to buy one but I have a hard time shelling out that much money.  Is it worth it?

Bigbuck, a Benelli shotgun is only going to be worth the money to you if it will be abused.  Several semi-auto shotguns will last a lifetime if you shoot a couple hundred rounds a year and look after them well - Remington, Beretta, Browning etc.  Benellis will shoot 3,000 rounds a year, live in mud and sweat and shoot full of water.  I hunt in a few places that need that kind of tool, not everyone does.  The last time I hunted flooded savannah in Guyana my Super 90 was underwater hiding in tall grass for 2 days.  When I shoot migratory birds it runs 2,000 rounds in 3 months on the seashore without being cleaned.  I'm having the barrel refinished to teflon or similar but the rest of the gun is perfect.
