Without a dought, possibly the best investment I made about 4yrs. ago. I bought one from Rancho Safari, just like a long coat, and I have had deer within 5yds down wind of me and not smell me. It breaks up your outline very well.

I bury mine a week before season and let the earth scent get into it. It works great.

Heck if you don't need camo to kill a good deer those silly Ghille's aren't needed.

Never had a Ghillie, but several years back with BDU's, face net, gloves, etc.  I actually had a doe walk right up to me before she realized I was there.  I could have reached out an touched her.

I think they would be great for turkey hunting, or predator hunting.

VC hit it dead on the head.  These things will shine in the Turkey field and out hunting predators.  The guy who wrote the coyote hunting book I last read highly reccommended them.  Also, they might be a REAL good idea for bow hunters who preferre to ground hunt and or stalk.

for bowhunting? I would think the strips would get in the way of the string

I use a 2-peice I bought from Wal-mart for $35.  It's not a Ghillie, but it does have strips of fabric hanging in all directions.  I used it for Bow season because I hunt on the ground in heavy brush from a stool.  I actually had deer look at me, and casually go back to grazing AT LESS THAN 20 YARDS AWAY.  Even when I moved, they couldn't figure out the outline if I froze when they looked.

The suit is AWSOME for the hot Tx season becaue it is entirely mesh.  It also seems to do a good job at keeping the mosquitoes away.
The problem with troubleshooting is....sometimes it shoots back!

I havce a Rancho jacket, pants, head net and hat.

I originally bought it for turkey hunting but I am trying it out for deer hunting. I can't really say that it is working or not. Right now I had three does come by two different stands. Just out of range with the bow.

I got one for my b-day this year.....its not one of the really fancy "Bug Tamer" gullie suits, or anything close to $200+ dollars for the whole thing....but the one I got was from Cabelas' and it cost I think $50 max....very nice for the money I belive.....came with the 3-D leaves on all pieces of clothing......the suit consisted of pants, top, and facegaurd/mask.....thought it was a good deal.....so my g-ma bought it for me during the summer when it was on sale!!

IDK how it will work.....but I got it for when I rifle hunt in an open stand (not a box stand)...im just thinking it should help conceal a little better :-) (or i hope so!! :?   )

Hope this helps!!

In the book "Invisible Advantage" the author uses a suit which is bare on the chest of burlap so your bowstring does not catch.  You still get the outline eliminating use of the suit, just without string interference.  Thats the beauty of making your own.  Its cheaper and usually comes out better in quality.  Just run a search through any search engine and you will find quite a bit on making your own suit.
