Hi Rick. Bob my oldest son that took over the crossbow review project saw a couple of really nice bucks up in CWMA. He claims both are as big or bigger than by 9 and 11 point bucks I have mounted. That's pretty darn nice bucks for this area if so. He was hunting up near my old Nine Pine stand at the time. He went back but didn't seem them the second trip and hasn't made a third yet.

He sure was wishing for his R700 Mtn. Rifle in .270 when he saw they way out of bow range.

Guess we're talking crossbows here
I've taken a doe for the freezer. Still looking for a nice buck for the second tag here in my zone. I could kill a third deer in the neighboring zone this year, so if I fill my 2 home zone tags before gun season I may try for a third on public land in the other zone (only about a 20 mile drive).

Well looks like weather here is about to get cool.............good.Maybe now I'll see something to shoot at.Been hunting 377 acres near my home.I saw deer just about everytime I scouted there up to about 2 weeks before bow season(Oct. 15th).Since opening day I havn't seen jack s@@t.Darn gets a little dishearting to say the lest.I bet I have seen a hundred squirells in the last 2 weeks;they don't know I'm there,so I would think the deer don't either.I think this weekend when I go out,I'll take some bolts with field tips;h@@l,I might as well shoot at something  ........Rick

Cooler weather should get them moving. It did here in WI. While not with a bow or crossbow I finally filled two tags as stated earlier. Get paid on the 10th for the month will go down where I shot the two and see if I can fill my archery tag with my crossbow.
Said I never had much use for one, never said I didn't know how to use it.

My buck tag is filled, so reckon I will try fer a urban doe this week end. I am good for 3 more urban doe tags. I can also go for another doe if I want to go to another zone with a special permit. Got till Jan.31 so in no real hurry as I have a couple in the frezz. Wife has a Buck Tag to fill sure would like to see her take a Monster  :-D

Well unlike some others I seen no deer within shooting range this week end, I did see a couple does and one small buck but he was out to far to count the points.

New week and a lot cooler weather so thngs may change fast  :)
