Nope, Mikey is decided.  Mikey will shoot a 303 Brit.  Mikey will shoot either a 1915 BSA production Model #1 Mk3 or a 7/48 Falkersly (?) production or re-work #4 Mk1 with a 2 groove bbl.  Prolly outshoot alla ya (lololol).  Mikey.

Ok Mikey I'm gonna hold ya to that!!!!!!!  You better out shoot us!!!  We haven't heard from S.Sumner i thought he would spank us with the new 6,5 jap rifle?                                                      BigBill

Do we have to lock in what ammo too? Or can we try different ammo that produces the best group?  Some ammo i have i haven't tried yet at all.
All the swede ammo i have is;

6,5 sellier & bellot  140gr.
6,5 swede surplus  139gr. m41 sniper ammo
6,5 Igman ammo   139gr.
6,5 my reloads      140gr

oh mikey,ya just have to be different. we could have had an all neutral soot but you have to use a .303. i think your trying to spell "Fazakerly" as far as ammo you can find out what shoot best before hand, but for the 3 targets you have to use the same ammo on all 3. fair enough?

It all sounds good to me.             BigBill

Here's some info on my swede mauser.
I picked up this swede m96 mauser i'm going to shoot in our postal match at a local gun show two years ago.

Now just for ha's ha's here's the spec's on my swede;

!907 Swede Carl Gustaf M96 6,5 Mauser "non matching numbers" the gun is all orginal with nothing done to it(no stock bedding or trigger work, well just moly "sear"),  the stock has one arsenal crown repair stamp on it.

The stock disc reads "1"  on the bore rust, on the bore size its 6,46 with a "9" marked so she's still within specs.  The headspace is perfect it won't close on the no-go guage.

Ok I can't make excuses now for the gun is good and can do its part if I do mine.

kevin303,
OK as you say I'm using my Swedish m38 carbine w/ mil sling and will probably use S&B 140 grain ammo. I found a few 100 yd. sight-in targets w/ grid layout (Outers) I will submit.  What's the general feeling about using those internet 100 yd. targets we can print out on 8 1/2 x 11 paper?  Pretty small for that distance???

I do have some handloads: 140 grain Hornady SP; IMR 4320 (various loadings 40.5-42.0 grains); S&B brass and CCI 200 primers.
Does anyone know what S&B 140 grain SP are getting in the way of muzzle velocities?

it doesn't really matter what targets we use since scoring is group size. i myself am not sure of my ability to accurately hit an printed of target. even a large square of whit paper with hand drawn grid would be acceptable. i bought some igman 6.5 at a gunshow this morning, that should cover me for this shoot and hunting season as well.

kevin303,
Hot-Damn kid!  If all we're going to do is shooting groupies, then I don't need to worry about zeroing in on the 10spot, do I?  Now, If the snow and wind die down a little I can get out to the range.................Wish me luck??

target ready
« Reply #12 on: November 21, 2004, 04:56:24 AM »
I have my target shot and ready to send. I kinda wish I had gone with my reloads or the M41 ammo instead of the Igman. The Ignam or "Ickman" ammo is very dirty and dosen't shoot as well as most out of my rifle. My hands got so dirty useing it, it reminded me of shooting my flintlock. I did get good service from Aimsurplus. The order arrived quickly and the shipping cost was reasonable compared to some. I plan on getting some GP11 from them incase we have a match just for the Swiss rifles. Oh well lesson learned and I had fun doing it. LouisV

Whats the time frame on this shoot??  When do we have to have the targets in by and where do we send them??  I hope its not too late for me things are going crazy right now for me i'm juggling buy land here and building a house at my camp up north besides hunting too.  BigBill

I'm hoping i'll have two shooting ranges when i'm done one here in Ct. and one at my camp in Vermont too.  Since i'm losing my legs more and more each year now I'll have to quad it out to 100yds to change targets and i maen you can't do that at a local range.

I'll shoot next week for sure.  I have some sighting in to do with my two project guns if you remember my 8mm and 7mm's?  Plus I want to benchrest my new saiga 308 and see how accurate it is at 100yds.  Its awesome at 50 to 75yds.  I still haven't shot my ljungman yet too.  BigBill
