Nah, go to UAF in Fairbanks, where the REAL Alaska is... Sorry, Moose-hunter, couldn't resist as UAF is my Alma Mater.
Once you are finished with high school you should be thinking real hard about college. And the U of Alaska is a dandy. Think wildlife management or geology if you want a good job in the outdoors. If you are inclined towards math, land surveying is a good profession, and there aren't that many young people going into it to take over from us older folks. But the work is outdoors and fun, and there is a world of opportunity out there. You just have to bite the bullet and get those extra four years of education in. At your age that looks like an eternity (heck, that's almost 1/4 of your time on earth now) but when you get to be older it really isn't that long. And it can be something fun too. That's what got me to Alaska almost 40 years ago, and I had a ball.
