Sporster barrel swap on different recv'r?
« on: November 06, 2004, 07:54:40 AM »
I have a Sportster in 22LR which I sent back to NEF a while back and had a 22mag fitted to the recv'r.
I'm wondering if any factory NEF barrel for the Sportster will fit my recv'r now, as long as is a rimfire or do they all have to be fitted to each individual frame?

Thanks a bunch :D

I just traded a .44 barrel for a .243, and when it came it was too loose. What I did was wrap a feeler gauge around the hinge pin and then cut it off, then wrap it more with needle nose pliers. It works. There are people around this forum who have done stuff like this for a while now. You shouldn't have any trouble rounding them up.
Ohhhh, I hate when that happens

WNC, all the rimfire barrels available from HR1871 will fit the sportster in general but as Nuttinbutchunks says, they may not fit good. The best advice would be to send the frame in for a barrel to be fitted. They charge $15 for barrel fitting and $10 return shipping, as you probably already know. If you have the option of buying a barrel from someone, just send NEF an email asking them if you can send the frame and barrel in for fitting. Email them at hr1871@hr1871.com or give em a call at
