Remington model 7400 in 35 Whelen at Gander Mount.
« on: November 07, 2004, 06:23:53 AM »
There is a nice used Remington model 7400 semi auto rifle in 35 Whelen at Gander Mountain at their Cicero store just north of Syracuse! I was really thinking about getting it but I am going to get a Remington model 1187 Premier 20 gauge so I can't get it right now! :(  They want around $420 for it. Its it really good condition. It's got the matte finish with a wood stock. The sights have been removed so you'll need a scope mount a a scope for it. Just thought I'd let my fellow New Yorker's know about it. That rifle is hard to find!

Wow, a gun which I have been facinated by ever since I heard about those.  $409.00 and on hold for me.  It would have come home with me, but the NICS system was down temporarily.  I think I am going to put my Redfield 2x-7x on it.  Now I got a big, biggame rifle.  Thanks for the heads up.  Now if we meet at the Grist Mill sometime, breakfast is on me!

I might just take you up on that, today at work they told me that I'm gonna be on layoff next week! Then the following week is Thanksgiving week, we get Monday the 22nd (opening day of southern zone shotgun) off as our "veterans day", work Tuesday and Wednesday then get Thursday and Friday off for the holiday. The week after Thanksgiving I have off for vacation! Can you say HUNTING!!!

Well, I am off for most of the month, I think I am only working 9 days this month.  I have the 20th to the 28th off.  Opening day of shotgun I will be in Wayne County.  That wednesday I will most likely be hunting southern Onon. County.  Same for Thanksgiving.  Friday evening I am driving down with Spencer to my Uncle and Aunt's house in the Catskills, as we are going to hunt black bears with revolvers.  Anytime you want to hunt NZ with me, I'd love to meet up with ya.  It would be interesting to swap opinions on good spots within Happy Valley.

congrats on the new addition to the family,  I can't wait to see it.  If you need rings, let me know.  I think I have a pair that will fit it well.
A bad day of hunting is better than a good day at the golf course.

We'll definitely have to get together! I did most of my deer hunting on my friends mothers property. She had 38 acres in McConnellsville. I say had because she sold it to my friend and his two sisters. Their both married and their husbands both hunt, and its their property to. I can and still do hunt their, but its getting crowded. I think I'm going to spend a lot more time in Happy Valley, especially now that they opened it up to ATV's in the summer. If I spend more time their in the off season I'll get to see the deer activity, that helps a lot!
