45 colt Firelapping Loads
« on: November 08, 2004, 04:29:00 AM »
Veral, I have sent you an order for your firelapping kit and book. Could you tell me a good 45colt firelapping load to get me started? I want to have everything ready to start firelapping when your kit and book gets here. Do you use the same load for a Ruger Vaquero and a Marlin 1894S? Or do you reduce the load for the rifle? Thanks...TheTodd

Smart idea!  --  The lap instructions tell how to load for lapping, so far as powder quantity.  I reccomend the fastest pistol powders.  I.e. 700 X, Bullseye, 231, etc.  Unique is a bit slow but OK if you have it and don't have faster, because it lights up easy with the very tiny charges used.

I mean tiny charges.  The bullets should be clearly visible in flight.
