444 Marlin loading data
« on: January 26, 2003, 02:32:22 AM »
:D Big Bore Fans,
I am loading the Lee 310 gr gas-check in my 444 Marlin and want to try some WW 748 powder. None of the books I have show any loads and I have checked the internet sights I know of and came up empty there.
Do any of you folks have a starting  load for this combanation??? I know that many ball powers have a (do not load less than) warning and I like being safe rather than sorry.

Thanks

Ron

I wouldn't think that 748 would be a good powder for the 444. H322 works great for me.  KN

I use 40 grs. of H4198 behind a cast gaschecked Lee 310. Avgs. 1904 fps out of my marlin .444p over my oehler cronograph. Not max but plenty of oomp for whitetails.
Don't believe 748 to be a good powder for  the .444.
