Hi, Howie. I'm about an hour or so away. You have just moved into the largest Whitetail deer herd in North America. PM me and give me the details.

Howie,

My wife is from San Antonio and we visit her family there for about 4 weeks a year. And always during Thanksgiving. We're going to be there from the 20th to the 30th of this month. Most of the family ranchs are about 45 minutes outside San Antonio, in the Rio Medina/Quihi area.

Gotta test out my new NightBlaster over the feeder that I hung there in April. Great hog huntin' along with that Deer heard!!!!!!!!!

Once my 15 year old goes off to college, we intend to move from CT out to that area of TX.

im going to marry  a beautiful black headed blue eyed cajun girl  who loves to hunt as much as i do,  i really am lucky  im starting her out  with some squirrel hunting and deer hunting  she will progress  to hogs  very quickly.  we hunted this past weekend  as we were walking to the box stand a big hog ran in front of us huffing and snorting  it was an adrenalin rush for both of us.   She even helps me dig bait holes,   she also says she knows how  to skin pigs!!!!!  so this is a dream come true  for me and my daughters  now  ill have an excuse  to buy an extra rifle shotgun bow and muzzleloader  once again thanks

 Congratulations Howie!  Is that why you've been so quiet here lately? BTW, would she happen to have a sister?

Warning Howie!
ALL women say that they like hunting pigs, that is untill you put that ring on their finger. There is nothing that will kill a womans zeal for hunting like marriage.

she is awesome  and  a real Hottie also, wondered how a short fat guy like me  would  get such a beauty?  lol  must  be fate.  we are hunting in the morning  she will   carry  the reminton 7400 308, and i will sit  there and  watch.  the  bucks are really moving.  im going to introduce  her into bowhunting soon.  ive never seen a woman who likes hunting as much as me  we went to academy to get her some clothes for work  the first place  she went  was the hunting section.  deep down  i just smiled  and thought perfect woman.  it  is  heck trying to get  my reps in on  the hunting game  North america 29 by cabelas.

Howie,

Not trying to get your head away from that sweetie pie, but you did ask about hunting San Antonio way.

If you want a good quality year-round lease for all species expect to pay in the $2K to $3K range and you will probably need to buddy up to get that. You might find some good land for less that will need work, then expect to lose it if you do too much work or start taking trophy game. I have an uncle who has some as-yet unleased land that would be good for hogs and deer, maybe doves, that he might lease for the remainder of the season or next year if you prefer. Let me know in a PM if you think you might want to go that route.

The good news is that for hogs you can probably hook up with a free hunt or two with the right farmer/rancher who wants his hogs thinned out. Don't know any personally, but they are out there. ASCS office is a good place to get names and phone numbers of landowners in the county you want to hunt.

Congrats on your upcoming matrimony!! I only dream about my wife drifting into the hunting section at Academy (on her own and not looking for me, that is). 8)
There is no more humbling experience for man than to be fully immersed in nature's artistry.

Give me a shout when you get to San Antonio. I'm 32 miles East of S.A. Lots of hogs out here in my area, but difficult to get permission to hunt private land. Most of the folks out here prefer to hunt the hogs with dogs. Nothing like sticking a BIG hog with a knife!
