I'm in Minnesota. What brand(s) are your tools and their calibers?    8)

Hello MG-42, :D

Yes, Yes,  :-D By all means, what new toys do you have for us to help you play with them. Give us all the details on them and I’m sure someone in this forum can help you play nicely with them.

MG-42,

Did you already get your question answered on how to use your die set or do you still need help with it?

Using equipment

Hello Donna:
As of yet no. I know the people on this board are more then willing to help. I finish setting up the presses (6) again and when I have an opportunity this weekend to get out the dies I will start trying to get it working again.
A little background on me. I am the worlds biggest scroung. I bring this up because of the number of jackets that I currently have. Our local bullet maker sold out and moved to Califormia. In the process all the scrap metal and unsold bullets went to the local lead recycle facility. Who owed me about 3 tons in credit. I swapped pound for pound for jackets, cores and bullets. Some are trash, which I also sold for scrap, However I ended up with about 100 30cal cans of 6mm and 30 cal bullets. I also ended up with 3 5 gallon buckets of 30 cal jackets, all new. And another 20 30cal ammo cans of 6mm jackets.
I know not much to do directly with swaging, but one of the many reasons I want to learn to swage properly. I shoot a lot of odd calibers and would like to make my own bullets to go along with this.
Anyway enough for now, I look forward to chatting more on the subject as I learn. Thanks and I am happy to have found this site

MG-42, with all those jackets you should look into the capabilities of Corbin Co's ET-1-M (or S if you have the press for it). It's a tool that trims jackets of one caliber to length. Trading for other length/caliber jackets would also be a possibility, but you have to consider mailing costs. I mention this as having different length jackets around increases the possibilities in swaging.  I will stay on board this weekend to see if I can help in your set-up and initial run(s).   I notice that you have your email button turned off, however, if you would like direct communication, just click on mine (or anyother) at the foot of any of these posts.   8)

I set up the e-mail. I just did not realize that I forgot it. I look forward to chatting with you.
What type of tooling do you need for trimming jackets? Chat with you soon.

Hey, MG$@!

I visit the Phoenix area frequently.  What do you have in mind?  Help in setting up your swaging or trade/scrounging materials?  I might be able to assist with either or both.

scrounging and trimming of cups
« Reply #9 on: March 09, 2003, 10:09:23 AM »
you will find that the ability to trim your cups to a desired dimension is vary desirable   and to to do this with out owning 5 million punches is also vary desirable.   trim dies are not cheep and have certian limatations.   so initially you might want to consider a tubing cut off saw or trim saw as listed further on down in this forum.   cup trading goes on all the time so cut one each of the cups you have in half and be able to describe it and its original length.   this will help quite a bit when you are talking to people.   also you may want to just sell them to buy something else.   so check the market price of what is already out there and go from there.

what kind of odd calibers do you shoot or want to make bullets for ????????
