You might get a few more responses to this in the Encore rifle forum, that's where I got most of my data for floating the forearm.
As Andy said it would shoot sub-MOA with a couple loads before and after floating, but I think I brought it from around 0.9 MOA to 0.6 MOA (those being the best groups on any particular day, averages are about 0.3-0.4 inches higher).
I first tried using nylon washers to get the forearm a bit further away from barrel. I had to dremel out the centers of the washers to fit them over the screws. This made assembly and disassembly more annoying. I eventually sanded--CAREFULLY!--the barrel channel so that I didn't need to use the washers anymore. I used linseed oil as a protectant after sanding. Now the only points of contact between my barrel and forearm/receiver are the two screw posts. All in all pretty easy and may have given me an accuracy improvement--but I still can't get anything to shoot over 1900 FPS without shooting 4 inch groups. It's still a 200 yard gun, just not quite as flat as I'd like it.
