I baught a 50 cal
I load it with 90 grains of FF thats what the limit is according to the book
and round ball
would this be good for Black bears out to 50 yards

If it were a U S Marine, he'd just use his hands and teeth out ta 50 or so yards.

The 50 cal patched round ball will do well at 50 yards with that amount of powder.  If you are worried about stopping power, you might think of using some sort of slug made by T/C or Lyman.  Either way you go, best of luck in your hunt.

Well we are all on one team
the trouble with slugs with my muzzle loader
I can't get them to shoot straight so I stick with balls
well I wont be hunting for awile just lik eto get info I will be over seas for 4 more years

Even the slow twist rifles will shoot the T/C maxi hunter bullet pretty well.  There is also the buffalo bullet and the lyman slug is good.  Since you have time - you might give one or two a try.  The weight of the bullet makes a big difference even though what your shootin will certainly get the job done.
