I'd like to try my hand at coyotes & jackrabbits this winter.
Does anyone with experience in east or south texas know whether I'd be better off with a long distance rifle like a scoped .223, or a woods gun like a lever action .357/.38 or the like?
South texas (where I will most likely be hunting) isn't really woods but it isn't really open prairie either. The bit I've seen & read... it's a mix of desert-like terrain (some open spaces) and small brush (very limited visibility unless you have a high vantage point).
Anyone know what people like to use in this kind of terrain?
Any info is appreciated!!!
