Lee makes a universal die for belling the case mouth for around 13 bucks it is tapered and good for cases 22 cal to 45 cal.  One die does them all in them calibers. I just bought one on reccomedations of others.
Said I never had much use for one, never said I didn't know how to use it.

Your welcome Tad. I looked at the M dies but when I saw the Lee die that will do all cartridges from 22 cal to 45 that was the die for me. I am on a limited budget and Lee stuff is good quality and does the job for less in some cases a lot less. Like this for instance where on Die will do the job instead of buying a die for each caliber. For those who like Lyman stuff and can afford it I see nothing wrong with it good products but so are Lee. Jim

Thanks Harold, i found that same m die in midsouth for  $9.90. I assume it will work on the JDJ since it is the same die listed for the 38/55 Win. I think i'll give it a try. :D

The Lyman M die and the RCBS equivalent expand the neck as well as flare the case and are a little better choice when you are looking for the very best accuracy in only one or two calibers. The cost does add up when you shoot a lot of stuff, and the Lee does bell anything perfectly.

Lyman also offers a powder measure adapter that comes with hollow expanders that works very well and eliminates a step in reloading. The expanders in that kit are aimed at pistol, but a little tinkering adapts it to .30 cal and .35 cal rifle.

There are no really bad choices.

Lyman used to sell a whole set of thru the die powder expanders that were M- die noses that screwed into a body.
The set  had an assortment that ran from 30 caliber thru .32 acp to .32 S&W to .355, .357 .44, .45acp and .45 Colt.

I agree with the above statement, but after Lee came out with their expander I have bought a few of them as I am cheap and load for and shoot a lot of mil-surps. I use the Lee turret press (lets not get into a Lee press discusion) and once I have a load developed I loc-tite the dies in the turret so I can have a quick change of caliber. A few extra bucks multiplied many times over adds up quick.

Lyman also makes a M-2A die that has a inside diameter of .578 and will handle a 3.25"case.
