Factory .300 ammo
« on: November 15, 2004, 04:52:39 PM »
Can anyone recomend some good factory ammo for a .300 win. mag? I'm looking for something accurate that would preform well on elk, possibly moose someday.  cheaper is a good thing too.   My model70 shoots Win. power point 180gr. very very well, but the bullets preformed so poorly on a whitetail doe that I have to find something better, any thoughts?

Mike,

I know they are not the cheapest but the Federal Premium Vital ยท Shok with 180 gr. Nosler Partition will not fail you.  If you want something a tad bit flatter shooting go with the same load but in a 165 gr. Partition.  This is the bullet I used in my .300 Weatherby until switching this year to Barnes TSX bullets.  Lawdog
