Any of you guys own/try one of those BSA red dots, that they are now selling at Wally World?

Got a couple of plinkers I want to set-up with red dots, for the kids. For $30.00, seems like a cheap experiment. :?

I had one on a Beretta Neos. It is kinda large and the red dot is too course (large) for very fine accuracy, but for plinking I had no complaints. I got rid of it because I hated the Neos, POS, and the guy wouldnt take it on trade without the red dot. All in all a decent value in my opinion.

I've been looking at them myself and was glad to see a positive response. Question. The dot is supposed to be adjustable for size. Will it adjust to site a reasonably small target at 50 yds, like a golf ball sized target? POWDERMAN.

The dot on mine was adjustable for brightness but not for size. Although as you dimed it it did appear to get smaller but was not good for bright sunlight. Dont get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with these for the price and the purpose you mentioned. In fact shooting golf balls was one of our favorite games and my red dot would work just fine for that all the way out to the 100 yd berm. There was a guy shooting with us however that had a Tasco (I believe) on an S&W that was much more compact and had a much finer dot. I tried his and the dot did not cover so much of the target (bulls eye) at 100 yds and I was able to shoot a much smaller group. I would however buy another one if I had something to put it on. Hmmm

cknight...Im glad to here you had good luck with these on you turkey gun. Ive been thinking about putting one on mine but didnt know how it would handle recoil. Thanks for the info.

Hi guys, newbie here.

I bought one of these BSA red dots a little while back, but I have it on my Hi-Point Carbine - it works very well.
I have shot a Browning Buckmark fitted with it too, and was favorably impressed. My own Buckmark is alright, but the rear sight's slot seems too wide, so it's not as precise as I would prefer. The red dot was a great improvement.
My only problem is, I like to use a red sticky dot in the center of my black "Shoot-N-Cee" targets. The red dot get's lost in it.
For sodacan plinking, it works great!
