Is this hunting I do not think so!
« on: November 18, 2004, 03:55:04 AM »
Saw on TV this morning of a Texas Rancher who has a set up that shoots a rifle remote control and wants folks to "hunt" with it by using your computer. THe camera sees what the scope and crosshairs see and by using your mouse it will fire the rifle. He wants to bring in a bunch of exotic game and let you hunt from home using your computer. IF you live where the meat can be sent he will have it processed for you and ship it to you and the same with the mount if you want it mounted. You have to buy a Texas license but the Texas Game commission is against it as they should be.

THis is not hunting this is shooting like in a computer game only the animal gets killed or worse wounded while you are thousands of miles or a other country away. What happened to the concept of fair chase? This butt head should be stopped in his endevors before this ever gets started. Now you can shoot at his site using a 22 at targets if the concept has enough folks interested he will use the same concept with a center fire at game. I am totally against this. It gives hunters a bad name and fuel for the anti's just for the greed of a moron who has the capability to do it. What do you guys think/ I think it sucks. Jim

:?  I agree with you fully!

A buddy of mine mentioned it yesterday.  Thought he was joking - so I searched for the site and found it.  Couldn't believe it - they are serious about this.

Talk about taking away the sport and giving hunters a bad name.  The problem is, those that will give hunters a bad name won't be hunters.

I have also read that the State of Texas is already taking legislative action to block these clowns from doing this - for once I agree - but I hope their action won't steamroll into other aspects of legitimate hunting.  Knowing most liberals, I'm sure they will try.

I do not see how any ethical person could avail themselves of this "service."  Regardless of the nature of hunting (or lack there of, in this case) the processing speed and technical issues make this a luck and timing issue rather than any kind of hunt.

From my understanding of it the state is trying to figure out a way of banning it...and rightly so...this is totally unethical...and to attempt to try to bring in the handicap folks...is just a sleazy way of trying to exploit and capitolize on a legal loophole in the current laws...

That isn't "hunting"... that's just "KILLING".    :noway:

If the "yuppies" and the "ME-generationers" who fancy themselves as "hurters" don't have the time to do a hunt properly, then they should admit it and stay away from the sport.

Simple, No electronic or mechanical devices to activate trigger pull.  All rifles, shotguns, and bows must be hand held by the shooter.

Implament these rules into the game regulations.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.
