Guys, Gals and Artists:
I bought a Bullberry high/exhibition grade semifinished stock-set for my encore and wanted to pole those of you that have more experience in wood finishing on what to use for a classy finish. Wood is a darker English Walnut with a lot of grain, patterns and dark veins and I don't want to darken it any more.
Fred at Bullberry suggested Patco wood filler with Mahogany stain mixed in to add a little reddish tint and Euritain spray finish.
FYI, I have finished a few laminated stocks with Tru-oil that has turned out great. I am very comfortable working with Tru-oil but have not finished expensive walnut wood with it and dont know how it will turn out. Fred said that Tru-oil will darken the wood a little.
