How high to sight in?
« on: November 18, 2004, 09:02:20 AM »
Fellas,

I'm shooting 245 grain Powerbelts over 100 grains of 777.  How high should I sight it in at 100 yards to make me good at 150?  Where might the POI be at 50 yards?  Any information you can provide will be great.  Thanks!

Using Powerbelt's ballistics chart, 2.5" high at 50yds or 3.5" high at 100yds will put you on at 150yds for a 28" inch barrel, which is longer than most. That should give you an idea of your tradjectory, best thing to do is shoot it at those ranges if you can to see what your rifle is actually doing and adjust accordingly.
