Need Help, Sighting Problem
« on: November 18, 2004, 09:29:56 AM »
Yesterday I went and had a Busnell HOLO sight put on my Contender with by 44 mag barrel, 15 inch.    I had it bore sigthed and brought it home to fine tune it.   Its right on center , so windage is not a problem, but I cant see to get it to come up ....I'm going one click at a time..and it gets to a certain point ......and even though I'm clickin UP....it starts going back down again .
The best I've been able to do is about 5 to 6 inches low at 50 yards..........Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have had adjustment problems with several scopes. What I read and what I now do is always is tap the adjustment knob, not smack but tap, with something like my leatherman multitool or some thing with just a little bit of weight.  Then I make the adjustment.   It seems to help with the tracking.  My other thought would be if you are actually in the middle of the vertical adjustment range or way to one end.

Cause I dont spell check.......what that should say is ..........I can't SEEM to get it to come up .........but in the interim I talked to a gun smith who said that this happens sometimes.....and that I need a shim at the rear of the scope mount.
