Holster for a Redhawk w/ Red Dot Sight
«

I have a 5 1/2" Redhawk that I put a red dot scope on (the old eyes ain't what they used to be). Can anyone recommend a holster maker or model to carry this gun? I'd prefer a hip holster but am open to any suggestions. Thanks!

With a gun that big and heavy on the hip is not the place to carry it. I use and recommend the Bandito from Pistol Packaging, Inc. for such large rigs.

Thanks GB. The Bandito looks like a good choice. I have carried the gun on my hip lots of times but not since I put the red dot on it. I was hoping to put the holster on my backpack's padded hip belt where I believe the weight would be distributed well. This does look like a good and farily inexpensive way to carry it though.

Graybeard, is that holster model specific(have to order for a particular gun) or one size fits all guns, like the cheap nylon stuff? Their advertisement doesn't say much.

I believe they pretty well make them all custom for the gun you order it for. Call them on the toll free number and discuss it with them. The one I have for my Raging Bull fits like a glove and there ain't nuttin else same as that big rascal

GB, Thanks for telling me about Pistol Packaging. I called on Monday and gave them my measurements. The holster arrived today (Saturday). Great service and the holster is a perfect fit.

Did ya tell them ya bought it from a recommendation by Graybeard? Always helps to keep the folks who supply us with items to review happy by finding out that when the products work well they get sales from it.
