I have a Marlin 1894SS in 44 cal. I have been reloading Speer 240 gr .429 diameter jacketed bullets only. Question: If I start shooting Hornady XTP jacketed bullets which are .430 in diameter will I be able to go back to the .429 diameter jacketed bullets??? Will accuracy be affected either way??? In other words, can I shoot both .429 diameter and .430 diameter jacketed bullets in the same gun with no loss of accuracy???

Swapping between .429 and .430 bullets will not "damage" the rifling, if that is what you are asking.

As for accuracy, any time you change ANYTHING, accuracy will change.

You may not want to load up to the maximum with the .430 bullets, especially if they'll occasionally be shot out of a handgun. Copper offers less resistance than steel so the bullet difference won't make a difference

Ditto what Steve said regarding a change in components effecting accuracy. It may be helpful to slug your bore to see what the actual groove diameter is & match the jacketed bullets to it. Every gun has combos it likes, & combos it doesn't. If you take a notion to try cast bullets, I think it would be safe to go .001" over groove dia. jd45.
