That particular poster was in fact trying to "steal" free advertising. Whether it was for himself or the smith is a bit hard to discern. There are indications they are in fact one and the same. But it might have been a plant trying to steal the free advertising since that particular smith cannot buy it here.

My advice to you would be to save your money for reputable companies.

I have wanted a .348 Winchester Handi for a while now (along with some other calibers). After some research I do not think I would get hooked up with the gunsmith that did the work spoken of in that earlier questionable post which was deleted by GB. l do have a great local gunsmith and a little cursory study has pointed me in the direction of a Badger barrel with a custom or scavaged barrel lug and forearm lug attached. Of course this is when I could afford it which might be never at the rate I have been going lately....<><.... :)

If one were not stuck on having to have a 348 chambered Handi, taking a 357 barrel and rechambering it to 356 or 358 Winchester will give the same practical ballistic performance and the benefit of a much better bullet selection. To boot there is no need for special barrels or special custom work.

.358 Winchester is a possibility but no thanks on the .356 :noway:, for some reason has never done anything for me....  That does sound as if it will have to be the way to go though, but if I do, it's going to be a .35 Remington!!!. Gotta love those classic calibers!!!...<><....
