Went into the Hospital last Monday with chest pains.  Ended up in Anchorage.  They first wanted to reopen my chest, then decided to just put a stint into a partially plugged artery.  Found out my By-Pass has totally failed.  The artery they put the stint in backfeeds the area of the By-Pass so I'm good for the time being.  Got out of the Hospital last night.  Back in North Pole now, still can't stand well, but should be back to normal in a week or so.  Plan on going back to the cabin next week for three or four days.  Should be fun, watching all those new gut piles for wolves.

Good to hear! My huntin partner went that routine this past summer, he's back to normal now and we're huntin deer and elk startin this comin wednesday. You'll be back out makin gut piles in no time!!! :wink:

Hang in there and take care of yourself...I just had my implanted defibulator replaced this past week. Had a heart attack in 99 lost a good amount of my heart in the process but am pretty good for now...was lucky this time...the Dr. that operated on me was a shooter and we chatted about guns thru just about the whole deal...till they put me out to run a test on the unit...he told me to give him a call sometime as he wanted to shoot some of my guns... :-) Corse for what I got charged to change out the thing he could buy himself about 20 to 30 handies!!  :roll:  You got to be feeling better anyway...your out of the dang hospital and home!! :D  Good luck and keep in touch!!

Hang in there buddy.  Getting older has it's plusses but it has it's drawbacks too.  Just do whatever the docs say and get back to 100% soon.

:D , Hang in there Sourdough, your to old and tough to hang it up yet. My wife had a stent implanted this March and she is better now than she has been in a long time. You will be too!!! Love your stories buddy and I want you around for a long, long, time, God Bless....<><.... :grin:

Hang in there Sourdough.  You've got a lot more crisp mornings to go before you're done hunting.  Maybe you just need a new O-ring and lever latch spring!  :wink:

Handi Rifle. How about a short list of the benifits of getting older. Besides not dieing that is. :grin: . I have been looking for some of them.
   Sourdough. Hang tough. I had a stent put in in 99. while they were doing that they found a spot on my lung and later that year they removed two thirds of the right lung. After the surgery while still in the recovery room, I had a great big heart attack. Six weeks in a comma later I came out of it and have been back hunting since the fall of 2001. I just had my five year check-up for cancer and all was clear. Get well soon I hope the lord smiles on you.

Had a stent put in, in 2000. year latter had to go back because it was getting clogged. They roto rootered it and put some kind of nuki pill on each end and zapped it, they said ifin it happened again it was bypass time. This year had another stent put in, had some bad chest pains while out in the boat fishing (alone). made it home and called the doc and he said he would meet me at the hosp. Both stents are the same but the second on is coated with a plastic  that is impregnated with sometype of medication and will last for 50 yrs.
The Dr. stated it was fun with me their, but he has never heard so many off color jokes.  :oops: . guess the joy juice at least lossened up some thing in the ole gray matter.
Any way get well and try to at least do some of the things the Dr. said to do, never know I may be in your neighborhood and need a cup.

quickdtoo. Glad to hear that you beat the big C as well. I know I had a good look out watching over me. My inlaws had me on every prayer list in the upper midwesy. A lot of family support as well. Makes a guy feel good to still be up and kicking. Now if I can do something with this Artritus. Bad shoulder and wrist. Can't complain though I just came back from a successful Elk and Mule deer hunt last week and am going again Monday or Tuesday. Capped a Cow elk with my 50 caliber muzzle loader. 300 grain Hornady XTP with two 50 grain Pyrodex pellets. Double lung shot at about 125 yards. I slept overnight on the edge of a meadow where they had been comming out at night after dark. Got a good shot the next morning just at sunup. Good eating this winter. Just more Mule deer hunting next week. I used a T/C woods rifle. I don't have a barrel for my NEF yet in muzzle loader.
