Opening the forcing cone on a Win 97

I've heard "yes and no" on the topic of opening the forcing cone on a Win 97 shotgun to lessen recoil.  Anyone want to enlighten us on the merits of having it done and costs???

Won't make enough difference to really tell it. If done in conjunction with back boring it will then make a difference. Unless you have the right tools tho you can't do it yourself and it costs a lot of money for the little good it does with the light loads you'll be using in CAS and the few times you'll be firing.

This is really more for tournament shooters in the clay targets games who shoot 200 or more rounds in a day.

Coyote Cap thinks it really makes a difference. You might talk to him before you decide yes or no.

I just had mine 97 slicked up. Forcing cone, bored and better ejector spring as well as honing of parts. What a difference $90.00 makes. My hulls used to come out with the ends frayed from the short chamber of the 97. Now they come out nice and clean and the recoil is next to non. The work was done by a local cowboy shooter and I had the gun back in 4 days. I saw over 40 Winchester 97s in his place. Kind of indicates the fellow knows his stuff, otherwise people would not send their guns to him.
