Killed my second handgun deer this past weekend. The ranch I hunt is intensly managed for whitetails, so this is actually a cull 3-year old 6-point. Hunted all morning, mostly in the rain with out seeing anything. Finally, after an aggressive rattling sequence, this buck along with a 4-year old 10-pointer stepped out at about 56 yards. The shot was true and he only ran about 30 yards before calling it quits.

I shot him with my T/C Encore, 15" 7-08. Ammo was Remington Cor-Lok 140 gr. (the cheap stuff). Quartering slightly away.

I rarely post but am on this sight daily kicking tires. Hope ya'll don't mind me sharing.

I'd be real proud of that deer! Any deer with a hand gunis a trophy.Nice high horns there.Hope he tastes better than he looks.

Congrats on the buck!! I shoot a Encore in 308 and shot a 5 point buck and a doe this year with mine using cast bullets. THose TC pistols sure make nice hunting pistols. :grin: I have shot a doe the two previous years to this one and then the buck and doe this year. I like the set up makes for a handy rig. Jim

Very good looking buck and with a handgun, way to go.
