10/22RR New Rifle version of the 10/22?
« on: November 24, 2004, 04:17:57 AM »
Has anyone had a chance to try this new version out yet?  I am thinking of getting one.  They have a slimmer stock, a 20"bbl and NO barrel band.

I didn't know if it was worth getting one.  My local dealer can get me one for $225.    I can get a standard version for about $170.

I figured the new version without the barrel band might be a little more accurate.  I am not going to use it in matches or anything.  Just some informal target practice and hunting.

Are the 22" Wallyworld special decent?    I was leary of getting a 10/22 from Wallyworld because I heard once that they got all the seconds and factory refurbished models.

Do you have one?  How does it shoot?  I would be happy with 1" groups at 50 yards fired from a bench with a scope.

ALL Wal-mart guns are first rate-----Wal-mart sells more guns than ANYBODY----no manufacturer could survive all the returns for service if all they supplied to Wally's were seconds-----not to mention there wouldn't be enough seconds off a production line to supply Wal-mart.

If Remington--Ruger---Weatherby et all-----lost their Walmart account-------due to poor quality---it would be virtually the kiss of death and they might as well close the doors.

The 22'' rifle was made SPECIFICALLY for Wal-mart.

I just bought one---but haven't shot it yet.

Most Seconds go through a clearing house---such as CDNN----and are sold and stated if they are Seconds or not.

Check all the Weatherby Seconds on sale at CDNN---right now.

Thank you sir!  That 22" sounds good.  Good luck with yours.  I think I'll take a swing by Wallyworld on my way home tonite.

Let me know how you make out when you finally shoot yours.

On further reflection----Its even bigger than that. You are even more likely to get a better gun at Wal-mart----although everybody puts out lemons from time to time.

Think about in your own situation in business----What customers get the better service and most attention?? (not that your should strive for this---but its how it works in reality).

The guy making regular---large orders or the customer coming in and buying one thing a year?? The large customer you'll bend over backwards for cause they're the one keeping the lights on and the doors open----the small customer get helped when you get around to it.

Now apply that to how a gun maker deals with the Wal-mart giant. See what I mean????
