Paul, My son's .223 shoots the Sierra 63 gr. semi-point soft-nose bullets really, really good. That's what he shot both his deer with. I shot a nice buck with the same load. The boy was only 11 and the buck was a little out of his comfortable shooting range, ( 175 yds, measured with a lazer rangfinder) I did'nt have my rifle and the buck was too nice to pass up.
I shot him once, he took off, I quickly reloaded and shot again. He ran about 75 yds and went down. Both shots were right on, about 2 inches apart, and both were pass-throughs with quarter size exits. IMO they are a good bullet.
