THANKSGIVING
« on: November 24, 2004, 11:57:51 PM »
Well, good morning folks.
What is this day? What is it all about? Who is it for? What is the purpose?
The Early folks, those in Europe, celebrated such a season at the end of Harvest. The Pilgrims wanted such, not to celebrate a harvest as such, but to give thanks.
For what?
Those Pilgrim folks did not celebrate Christmas--said it was too commercial, too pagan, not serious enough, too much partying, too much to do about nothing serious.
Thanksgiving is PRAISE folks. Not praise to what we got, not a football game, not food.
Thanksgiving is praise to the LORD OUR GOD, not too a god of our choosing, To the living GOD, our creator, our SAVIOR, well, and to the kindness, love, favor, grace and mercy he offers.
You don't have much too give thanks about?
It is not about wealth, position, power or winning. It is about Praising GOD who sees ALL, Knows ALL and in spite of us ALL, loves us and offers with outstreached, nail scared hands, bloody mutilated body, grace, mercy and eternal life .
If you finally see him, and believe he is who he says he is, GOD, reach out, ask forgiveness and ask him into your heart.
Blessings, and, well, the happiest thanksgiving you can ever have.
TEXAS, by GOD
