1894 CB advice needed

I'm looking at getting a light recoiling Marlin lever action to use as a "plinker"/fun gun. I will not be hunting with it. The Marlin 1894 Cowboy in .357 magnum interests me, but I plan on shooting jacketed .38 special ammo most of the time.

The website is very short on info about what .38 ammo works, etc. Has anyone tried jacketed .38 special loads in these in the 125/130 grain loadings? I ask because I have LOTS of .38 special in the 130 gr. FMJ and I would want to be able to shoot them in this rifle.

While we are on the subject, how light can the .45/70 be loaded down for the guide gun if you just wanted to mess around with it?

You will really enjoy the Marlin 1894 Cowboy .357....A LOT! The Marlin .357's are just plain neat leverguns anyway. I have shot truckloads of jacketed ammunition out of my Cowboy .357 in both magnum and special length. It is not yet as smooth as my other .357's, by that I mean they will function with HBWC's:-} Good Shootin'
