Turkey & Deer Shotgun??? 12ga. barrel or regular Shotgu
« on: November 27, 2004, 11:10:29 AM »
I am in the market for a shotgun for turkey / Deer.  I will also look at the shotgun barrel for my Encore, but don't know of any info on this combo.  Has anyone gone this route?  And if so is it a good idea?

I like the Encore platform and think the shotgun barrel would make a nice setup for turkey / deer.  So fire away with your ideas or comments please.

This is one of two posts on shotgun barrels and no one has any experiences with them?????????

I guess no one has got the barrels or just don't want to comment on them.  Which is it?  Are they that bad?

Well I have no personal experience with the Encore as a turkey rig.  But I want to set myself up some day with one.  I think the Encore is a naturally great platform for turkey hunting because of the pistol grip design and the ease of being able to add a bi-pod.  There are others here who own turkey rigs for their Encores and, if I remember, they seemed to like them, if not being a bit heavy in the recoil department (but hey, I just look at it like the gun tapping ya in the shoulder and telling ys to make ONE good shot so you dont need to shoot her again  :) .)
Im kinda cheap though.  I wouldnt spend the extra cash for the camo bbl, but rather Ill stick with the blued.
