If it isn't too much trouble , I would like to see some pics of your guy's Handi , I also got a question for you guys about a 45/70 Handi , are they accureate, reliable and how bad is the recoil on one.

Thanks

:D , Welcome aboard buckmaster 30-30, the 45-70 kicks a lot less than a 12 gauge and it's no problem from my end. I don't know how to post pictures but mine is a standard Handi that shoots great and is as reliable as they come for accuracy and always going off. What more could you ask for in a cold winter woods with a big buck in front of you!!!....<><....

Hutchhandi
Is the picture backwards or do you have the scope backwards???

What scope is that anyway, I like it for close work, not in the way of the hammer

NO NO NO...The picture is right...this scope just has Three Knobs on it...
It is an NcStar 3x9x42e...The third knob (on the left) is the Brightness for the illumination control...It is a red illumination that is nice when shooting in low light or agaist black obects...Cost is about $70 or so.  I have it mounted on Leo's Med Rings, but I am going to which them to High so I can set the scoop back one notch for more releaf...

The stock is from Advanced Tech...you can buy them here: http://www.centerfiresystems.com/miva/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=CSI&Product_Code=SF-HNBS&Category_Code=SA  Cost is also about $70
I found the grip to be a bit too short for my taste, so I have since replaced it with a finger grip AR-15 from a Bushmaster that my gunsmith had.  The handles are interchangeible with those from any AR 15, so even a nice ruberized one would work...

Theres my 25-06 Ultra.

It will shoot under an inch at 100y after a little bit of load tweaking. Shot a nice 2 and 1/16" inch group at 325y today using Hornady 75g V-Max's.

I love the gun!

Edit: BTW, don't mind the ugly couch...it is comfortable though

Thanks Quick...I don't know why I can't do that...I'll keep hammering at it!!. With the exception of the 17HMR in that pile all the other barrels interchange perfectly between all the receivers...Some barrels were factory installed but others were purchased individually and I guess I have just been lucky. Looking at all the laminated stocks I gotta say that those really dress up the handi's.  8)

I can't keep up with this crowd.  My .45/70 is just a stock barrel and wood on a H&R shotgun receiver.  Here it sits while doing a little load development.

This is how it shoots (1 1/8") at 100 yards with 20.0 gr Blue Dot and a 300 gr Rem JHP (1478 fps).

Then there's 12.0 gr Green Dot with a 405 gr Rem JSP at  1055 fps in 1" at 100 yards.

v8r, scopechiefs are no longer made but I think www.dnrsports.com still has some of em. I paid $40 for this one on ebay, have several of em, the Japan and Philippine made scopechiefs are my favorites.

sss, it's a topper frame I got from bigborefan. The 2-tone look is why I decided to go with it...I got a synthetic stock set from BBF recently, got the barrel on ebay, but it had a french gray finish on it, wasn't a good finish job at all so I sanded the finish off and blued it, came out the best of any blue job I've ever done! Hopefully it will shoot good, it looks like it will be a great carry rifle, it's the lightest centerfire rifle I've got, even lighter than my BLR!!

I guess I should have posted all of the Handis.  From the top: .45/70 case hardened shotgun receiver, .357 Mag case hardened shotgun receiver, .223 Rem SB2, and .22 Hornet SB2.

I shot another group with the .45/70 today at 100 yards that looks like this.
