Hey guys there are a lot of really nice looking guns and setups in here! The beauty of the Handis.....customize!!! I see some really nice looking scopes on these beauties too. Seems that I am in the scope market now with a new Handi that is scopeless right now and planning to scope a Pardner barrel for smoothbore sluggin'. Would like to find a nice LONG 50mm scope for my Vanguard too.....15-16". How about some lists of the scopes and some reports on them. Endurance, magnification and light gathering, prices. Not too much to ask is it?

John, the Simmons Whitetail Classic 18 6.5-20x50(top scope) is a pretty nice scope and when you figure in the cost at $100, it's even nicer! The Simmons ATV 4.5-14x40(bottom scope) is also a great scope at $79.

Another scope you might be interested in is the Mueller Sport Dot 4-16x50. I have this scope and have considered it for sale, although I haven't advertised it. If you are interested,  it's new in box, never mounted, comes with full factory lifetime warranty. They now sell for $180, but I will sell it to you for the old price of $150 shipped.

Just updated my above list of rifles to include scopes....also I just mounted the 4.5-14 Simmons ATV on my EABCO 10-22 now converted to 17M2.  SWEET!!  I like it alot! That's alot of scope for the money :D  P.S....from the looks of Pauls pic it appears I need to try and get  some Green and Blue Dot powders....

SSS,

I'll have to agree with you on the case hardened receivers!  Especially considering the roughness and lack of polish on my newest (considering age only) SB2  receiver (the .223).

Deadeye,

One of the reasons I use Green Dot is the red can in the right front of this picture.  The cardboard "can" on top of the red can is Green Dot too!

It's leftovers from shotshell loading days back in the '70's.

yeah Paul ...at only 10 to 20 grains per shot that keg can light off a bit of lead! hahaha Thats the reason I like Unique too! Actually I have a vintage red can just like that one but Unique came in it. I also see something familiar in that photo of your reloading bench...My old RCBS press is just like that one...green handle and all...wish I had a nickle for every time the handle has gone up and down on it..... :-D  I keep thinking of buying a new bigger press but then I think....why....this 40 year old old thing is still going strong....

Deadeye,

That's a 1973 model Rock Chucker I bought at Glen Slade's on the Gulf Freeway in Houston.  I bought that Ohaus 505 at the same time.  The press looked better before I degreased it with carb cleaner.  The cleaner took some of the paint off!

Quik - I have already been thinking about one of the ATV's for a .223 barrel if I decide to replace mine that went back to H&R. Also PM'ed ya on the Mueller.

Deadeye- Man that FrankenClassic looks so cool  8). I thought I remembered ya telling me once before that ya had the Premier 3-9x40 on it tho.

I hope to post a pic of my collection son if it ever quits growing and changing. Had barrels sold or traded them, guns sold or traded, and one back to H&R for a refund.

WoW! Paul..I remember Glen Slades...that was a couple days ago wasn't it...I lived in Houston at that time...I remember when Carter Country opened up I think....as far as the paint off the press...just adds to the charisma of it don't it??!! :-D  I painted the handle on mine as it was rusting so bad I couldn't touch it with out getting rust on my pants or hands.... :) I also spruced up the primer catcher on it by painting it also...Uptown lookin now!! 8)

Like2hunt...I may have told ya it had the 3-9x40 on it at one time...I have switched the things around a few times. I even have a couple of scope on barrels that don't show scopes mounted in the photo...I'm thinking of taking the 3-9x40 off that Survivor and putting a smaller on one Like the Bushnell 1.5 to 4.5...not going to be taking too many long shots with that thing anyway...it's just kind of a novelty but it doesn't shoot too bad....I really do need to get busy and work up some loads for quite a few of those guns... Now that I have all my medical problems and a couple other distractions out of the way...maybe I can.. :-) I did whip up some Pyrodex loads for the 45-70 last night ...can't wait to light them up....

Duce -

Those must be "featherweights."  I noticed they were "levitating" off the pegs.
