Marlin Mod. .375
« on: November 27, 2004, 04:17:28 PM »
I have a Marlin Model 375 in .375 Winchester (what else). A gift from my father-in-law a few years back. Took my first deer with it a couple of years ago and it really tore the small doe up. Have never seen another one nor seen anything on this forum about them. Anyone have any idea of what it might be worth. Great shape with I'm sure less than 50 rounds through it. Thanks for any input.

I'm looking for one, but don't honestly know a good price for one. I heard the prices vary from state to state.  Drop me a note, I've been looking for one for a while and will give you a more than fair deal.  Bill

They will generally run from $350 to $550.   Those who have them seem to like them.  I found one after looking for some time, and so far have killed 5 deer with 6 shots with it.  None of the deer went more than about 10 yards or so.  It seems like an ideal caliber for any deer.  There were a little over 16,000 made.

Wow!  Only 16,000?  Resell prices seem pretty good too.  Guess I'll rethink about converting mine to another caliber and start looking to picking up some reloading components since some pard warned against using factory 38-55 out of it.  Now what to do with all them 38-55's.  Probably pull the bullets and sell the brass.

I bought one new when they first came out (?), also purchased quite a bit of ammo for it wished that I'd bought more of the 250 gr. loaded shells for it. I have about 200 rnds of the 250 and about 300 of the 200 gr.. I have never shot this rifle so you could say it's  NIB without the box, been thinking about taking it deer hunting but never have. I guess you could say it is money in the bank cause I'm sure I didn't pay as much as they are going for now. Also picked up one of the 356 Win at same time, still new never been shot.
Hope you like it I like just picking them up and handling them.

I passed on one today the Antique Arms Show at the Novi (MI) Expo Center.  Marked as $495 and it looked mint.  I'll kick myself for some time to come for not even trying to cut a deal.  But I'm saving for more squarebolts, my favorites.
