Just got back from New York for my first whitetail deer hunt in 5 years. I only had five days to bow hunt and the deer seemed elusive. But on the 19th I had a yearling sneak out of a corn field. I knew there had to be a mature doe with her and eventually I spotted her. At about 32 yards away she entered a narrow opening and I let her rip. The Stinger took out both lungs and she only ran about 70 yards. Somewhere in the 140-145 pound range dressed.
Opening day of the shotgun season and I should have had the bow. A 8 point walked to within 9 yards broadside before I cleaned his carberator for him. Passed on a 4 point and latter blew a shot on a doe. Forgot to shuck the shell from the pump shot on the buck.
Oh well, hunting with your son is the thing that matters the most and I really enjoyed him and the grandkids.
