Advice needed on custom work
« on: November 29, 2004, 12:51:27 PM »
For Christams my wife said I can have some custom work done to my Ruger Bisley 45colt. I know I want to change the sights to a v-notch rear and a bead front. I have been looking around and have decided to send it to Dave Clements to have him do the work. I have decided on the tritium front bead with Bowen v-notch rear. Has anyone tried this sight setup and what is the opinion on Mr. Clements work. The gun  all ready has a new spring kit and the cylinders have all been made uniform. The trigger and action have also been worked on as well. What other things would you guys reccomend. I was considering the freewheel option and an oversize #5 base pin.

Thanks,
Erick

looks like you have the bases pretty much covered. I personaly dont like bead sight or express sights on handguns. I prefer a good bowen rear and post front setup with the front bladed thinned to .10 Clements has done alot of work for me and its all top shelf.

Dave Clements does great work. How about an oversize locking base pin and have all that Ruger warning stuff taken off the barrel. Forcing cone opened up and cylinder gap checked.

How about having the barrel cylinder gap set to minimum specs along with Clements custom FA style front sight base with a real nice muzzle crown? Sounds like a nice set of SK Custom grips are in order as well.

Be Safe,
